The Symphonic Band is our second group and consists of seventh graders who have completed at least one year in band. However, on case by case basis we do accept students who didn’t do band in 6th grade. This is also a full year elective. The class concentrates on teaching students the many aspects of performing, music theory and playing in a band setting on a daily basis by using method books and performing a wide range of literature. The Symphonic Band will perform in at least 4 concerts throughout the year. This group also participates in the CMEA band ratings festival. Additionally, at the end of the year this band performs at the 8th grade graduation.
